Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
