Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
