The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The piercing star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
