The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heavens with constellations, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
