Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
