(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
