Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything? 42 Father, there has come to me knowledge such as came not to thee; so follow me, and I will guide thee on a level path. 43 Father, do not worship satan; for satan has rebelled against the Merciful. 44 "O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend." 45 His father replied, "Abraham, are you telling me to give-up my gods? If you will not stop this, I shall stone you to death. Leave my house and do not come back again". 46 [Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me. 47 I shall withdraw from you and all that you call upon beside Allah. I shall only call upon my Lord. I trust the prayer to my Lord will not go unanswered." 48 So, when he had withdrawn from them and that which they were worshipping beside Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a prophet. 49 And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor. 50
