The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
