▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 It is surely one of the greater, 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the sinners. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
