The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
