The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
