The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
