There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth. We revive it and We produce grain from it of which they eat. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
