Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
