Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.' " 20
