HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
