The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
