The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a grievous day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
