And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
