Deem not that God is heedless of what the evildoers work; He is only deferring them to a day when eyes shall stare, 42 Hastening forward, their heads upraised, their eyes not reverting to them and their hearts vacant. 43 And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation? 44 "And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls; ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and We put forth (many) parables in your behoof!" 45 They plotted their plots, but their plots are (known) to Allah, even though their plots were such as to move mountains. 46 So deem not thou that Allah is going to fail His promise to His apostles; verily Allah is Mighty, Lord of vengeance 47 [It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 48 And thou wilt see the guilty on that Day bound together in fetters. 49 Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire. 50 That Allah may requite each soul according to that which he hath earned: verily Allah is swift in reckoning. 51 This (Quran) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilah (God - Allah) - (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and that men of understanding may take heed. 52
