Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
