Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
