Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
