The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a written book, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
