The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
