The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 who observe Zakah; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 these are the heirs 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
