The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
