Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 Surely we have to go back to our Lord." 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
