Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And that which is in the breasts (of men) shall be made known. 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
