The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; 1 And by the moon as it follows it (the sun); 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 and by the night when it draws a veil over it, 4 And by oath of the heaven and by oath of Him Who made it. 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 In their presumptuous insolence the Thamud called the Truth a lie 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
Almighty God's Truth.
