Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
