The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
