۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
