Hast thou not seen how thy Lord hath spread the shade - And if He willed He could have made it still - then We have made the sun its pilot; 45 Then We withdraw it unto Us, a gradual withdrawal? 46 And it is He who hath made for you the night a covering, and the sleep repose, and hath made the day a resurrection. 47 And it is He Who sent the winds giving glad tidings before His mercy; and We sent down purifying water from the sky. 48 That We may give life thereby to a dead land and give it for drink, out of what We have created, to cattle and many people. 49 And We distribute it among them in various ways that they may ponder and reflect; yet most men disdain everything but denial and thanklessness. 50 Had We pleased We could have raised a warner in every town. 51 So obey not the unbelievers, but struggle with them thereby mightily. 52 ۞ And He it is Who hath given independence to the two seas (though they meet); one palatable, sweet, and the other saltish, bitter; and hath set a bar and a forbidding ban between them. 53 And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He will. 54 Yet they worship instead of Allah that which can neither benefit them nor hurt them. The disbeliever was ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 Yet We have not sent you but to give good tidings and to warn. 56 Say: "For this, no reward do I ask of you - [no reward] other than that he who so wills may unto his Sustainer find a way!" 57 And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted - 58 He who has created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six aeons, and is established on the throne of His almightiness; the Most Gracious! Ask, then, about Him, [the] One who is [truly] aware. 59 And when it is said to them, “Prostrate to the Most Gracious” – they say, “And what is the Most Gracious? Shall we prostrate to whatever you command us?” And this command only increases the hatred in them. (Command of Prostration # 7) ۩ 60
