Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
