Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
