And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
