The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
