Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
