Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
