The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 and erect huge palaces as though you will live for ever, 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 “And with gardens and water-springs.” 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
