The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11
