The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
