The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
