The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
