And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They said "So long as Moses does not come back we are not going to give it up, and we will remain devoted to it." 91 He (Moses) said: O Aaron! What held thee back when thou didst see them gone astray, 92 from following after me, did you disobey my order' 93 (Aaron) replied: "O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard nor by (the hair of) my head! Truly I feared lest thou shouldst say, 'Thou has caused a division among the children of Israel, and thou didst not respect my word!'" 94 Moses said, 'And thou, Samaritan, what was thy business?' 95 He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." 96 He said: Begone then, surely for you it will be in this life to say, Touch (me) not; and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your god to whose worship you kept (so long); we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea. 97 Your God is only the One God; there is no god, but He alone who in His knowledge embraces everything.' 98 And so We narrate to you the stories of the past, and We have given you a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever disregards (the Quran) will be heavily burdened with sin on the Day of Judgment 100 and live in it for ever; how evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection. 101 The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror), 102 In whispers will they consult each other: "Yet tarried not longer than ten (Days); 103 We know well what they will say to one another: We also know that even the most cautious in his estimate will say: "You lived in the world no more than a day." 104
