And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
