He it is Who sends down water for you from the sky out of which you drink and out of which grow the plants on which you pasture your cattle, 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And it is He Who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek His munificence and that you may give thanks. 14 God has fixed the mountains on earth lest you should be hurled away when it quakes. Therein He has also made rivers and roads so that you will find your way. 15 And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves. 16 So will He Who creates ever be like one who does not create? So do you not heed advice? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you reveal. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, lifeless, and they know not when they will be raised up. 21
