T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
