When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
